Travel Berkey Stainless Steel Portable Water Filter 1.5 Gallons is compact and a perfectly designed system for a group of up to four people to use during outdoor activities, travel or during unexpected emergencies. This powerful Berkey water filter purifies both treated and untreated raw water from such sources as streams, remote lakes, stagnant ponds and water supplies in foreign countries, where regulations may be second rate at best. While this is the smallest system in the Berkey line-up, it is just as effective and capable as it's older siblings.

Travel Berkey eliminates pathogenic bacteria, cysts and parasites entirely and extracts harmful chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, VOC's, organic solvents, radon 222, and trihalomethanes. It also reduces nitrates, nitrites and unhealthy minerals such as lead and mercury. Travel Berkey is so efficient it can remove food coloring from water without eliminating the beneficial minerals your body needs. Virtually no other system is able to duplicate this performance. This stainless steel water purifier is effective during a natural disaster such as hurricanes, floods, earthquakes and blackouts. Ideal for everyday use the Traveler is a must in any hostile environment where electricity, water pressure or treated water may not be obtainable.

The portable water filter system comes complete with two Black Berkey purification elements and utilizes the latest technological advances. Configured with two purification elements the system will filter up to 2.75 gallons (9.5 liters) per hour. It is constructed of highly polished 304 stainless steel and has a storage capacity of about 1.5 gallons (5.7liters). When in use it stands 18 inches in height and less than 7.5 inches in diameter. For travel the upper chamber fits within the lower chamber and stands 12 inches in height. The flow rate is calculated when the upper chamber is filled to the top and decreases as the water level declines.
